About

Brenda Ferber is an award-winning children’s book author based in Boca Raton, Florida. When she’s not writing, reading, or talking to kids about books, she’s likely playing tennis or golf, seeing live theater, spending time with her husband and their three fabulous children, or counseling people through Crisis Text Line.

Her middle grade novels include: Julia’s Kitchen, Jemma Hartman Camper Extraordinaire, and Sing Something True. And she has a picture book called The Yuckiest, Stinkiest, Best Valentine Ever. With all of her books, Brenda aims to inspire readers to laugh, cry, and see themselves and the world in a slightly new light.

I didn’t know it was so much fun to be a writer, and I didn’t know writers could work in their pajamas!

You did a beautiful job of relating to the children and sharing the intricacies of the writing process in a way all could understand.

I know for a fact that all libraries are now hounded for copies of your books and there isn’t enough to go around—a good problem to have!
—Beth Elshoff, School Librarian
Each student was inspired and motivated by your thoughts and words. They couldn’t wait to get back into the classroom to begin writing.
